Jim Danner joins CW 33 DFW

Jim Danner has left the CBS 4 KGBT morning and noon newscast where he was a meteorologist. He later said he is joining Nexstar Media Group sister station CW 33 KDAF Dallas - Fort Worth.

Here is what Danner posted on Instagram when he left the RGV:

"Well, after nearly 8 1/2 years of living in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, I will be moving on to another endeavor.

I will continue working with Nexstar Media Group, and will be taking my talents to Dallas, Texas.

It has been a joy to present timely and valuable weather information to the residents, winter Texans, and tourists of deep south Texas.

I am excited for the new journey, and will never forget my time in the RGV."

According to the station,  since Danner will still work within Nexstar Media Group, he could occasionally fill in the weather for CBS 4.

Danner joined CBS 4 in October 2015.

Aside from time in real estate, Danner has almost 30 years of experience in weather forecasting.

He previously worked for CBS Austin KEYE, Kavouras (a TV weather computer company), KAMR 4 Amarillo, KENS 5 San Antonio, and KDCY-FM Cotulla, Texas.

He attended the University of St. Thomas and Sam Houston State University.
