Avaionia Smith joins 6 News KCEN Waco-Temple-Killeen in May 2024 as a meteorologist from WTOK 11 Meridian, Mississippi.
"I packed my bags and moved to Texas," Smith posted to Instagram. "Monday, I marked my 2 year broadcast career by starting at @kcennews in Temple, TX. Today I made my on air debut. Can’t wait to cover Central Texas."
The Jackson State University grad began her career with Storm Team 11 at WTOK in May 2022 and was the meteorologist for "Good Morning Meridian."
That made WTOK her hometown station since she was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi.
