CBS 11 KTVT DFW replaces 6pm newscast with 'Jeopardy'
The Advocate reports owner E.W. Scripps Co. is replacing the KATC 5pm, 6pm and 10pm newscasts with "pre-recorded elements that will be combined with live packages when 'Acadiana needs us to be live.'"
I don't normally report on stations across the Sabine Pass, but Scripps does own stations in Texas. So could it happen here? Well, there have been Texas cuts. The Advocate reports that KXXV Waco-Temple-Killeen has already gone through a staff reduction last summer.
As for the anchor team, 96.5 KPEL reports they could soon be hired "across the street" at competitor and Byron Allen Media Broadcasting-owned KADN News 15.
