CBS 11 KTVT Dallas-Fort Worth is replacing its "CBS News Texas at 6:00pm" newscast with 'Jeopardy' starting Monday, September 11, 2023 according to an ad running on the station.
As you might imagine, when an owned and operated network station drops a 6pm newscast in a major market, the emails start rolling in.
One viewer emailed me saying, "Shocked is the only way to describe it."
So for weekday afternoon/evening news at KTVT you will soon have:
CBS News Texas at 4:00pm
CBS News Texas at 5:00pm
CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell
CBS News Texas at 10:00 PM New
The 6pm hour will be all game shows as 'Jeopardy' is scheduled ahead of 'Wheel of Fortune' which already airs at 6:30pm.
If you can wait until 7pm, then CBS-owned sister station TXA-21 KTXA will debut "CBS News Texas at 7:00pm" starting on 9-11-23.
Currently, KTXA airs the 9pm newscast "CBS News Texas Now" produced through its Innovation Lab, but this show goes away on Sept. 11, replaced by "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
Meanwhile, down I-45, a Houston station is adding TV newscasts the same day.
