Daji Aswad is taking over KPRC 2 Houston weekend meteorological duties from Justin Stapleton.
I told someone yesterday that Stapleton was leaving weekends, and they thought I was saying he was leaving channel 2 and got upset. No, Stapleton is moving to weekdays for weather duties on KPRC's new 10am, 12pm, new 3pm and 4pm newscasts with Lisa Hernandez, Andy Cerota and Candace Burns.
As for Aswad, the KPRC job is a homecoming since she considers Houston home.
Aswad returns to Houston from WISN 12 Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she was the weekend evening meteorologist/reporter.
She previously worked for AccuWeather for five years as a meteorologist and producer since September 2020.
The University of the Incarnate Word grad interned with News 4 San Antonio WOAI.
As we see the Houston TV station hiring more staff meteorologists, let's take note that the same week, KHOU 11 hired Chris Ramirez for its weather department.
