Quillin is exiting the TV news biz, but staying in Central Texas to join the Copperas Cove Independent School District as Public Information Officer (PIO) and director of communications.
The award-winning sports journalist joined KCEN in July 2016 as a news/sports reporter and fill-in sports anchor.
In August 2019, Quillin moved to weekend sports anchor and then sports director in November 2020.
The Oklahoma State University grad interned with KSAT 12 San Antonio.
Now KCEN employees might think I don't really know anything about the Central Texas TV sports world.
What I do know is that by looking at the 6 News bios page, I noticed the offspring of Waco sports royalty is already in the building and working as a digital content producer. Jacob Wallin is the son of former New 25 KXXV sports director Jon Wallin! A future KCEN sportscaster in the making?
Oh, and speaking of KXXV, I vote they bring back Ray Peters to the market! FOX Sports’ Gus Johnson and I are his biggest fans!
