Larry Ramirez has been promoted to KSAT 12 San Antonio sports director.
He takes the spot vacated by Greg Simmons who resigned in January 2023 after being arrested and charged with DWI.
"It’s an honor to be named Sports Director at KSAT 12," Ramirez said in a statement on the station's website. "I love the KSAT and Graham Media Group and wouldn’t want to work for any other company."
Ramirez has been with KSAT since October 2004 where he has been the station's weekend sports anchor and noon sports anchor ever since.
He came to San Antonio from Graham Media Group sister-station News4JAX WJXT Jacksonville, Florida.
Before Florida, Ramirez worked for 9&10 News WWTV Cadillac, Michigan as assistant sports director.
He started his television news career in 2000 at WBKP Calumet, Michigan as a weekend sports anchor where he was later promoted to sports director.
