Sandra Diaz left her role as chief meteorologist for KFOX14 and CBS4 KDBC El Paso on December 30, 2022 where she had worked since 2004.
"It’s time to recharge my batteries and move on. People keep asking me what it is I will miss the most. Without hesitation, it’s the people and this beautiful city! I have met so many of you, through Pay it Forward, out-and-about and many events. Thank you for always being so friendly and for watching."
TV watchers outside of El Paso may recognize Diaz from her time at the Weather Channel from 2001 to 2003.
Diaz previously worked in Texas for News 8 Austin (now Spectrum News 1 Texas) and before that for KCEN 6 Waco/Temple/Killeen where she was the morning and noon meteorologist in both positions.
The Texas State University was named a member of the school's "Distinguished Alumni" in 2002.
