Erica Brennes returns to the morning traffic anchor role at KXAN Austin after Amanda Dugan moved to another department.
"Beep! Beep! Jumping back in to all things Austin traffic very soon! Taking over morning traffic duties on @KXAN_News next week," Brennes tweeted.
Her first day should be Monday, August 29, 2022.
Brennes previously worked at KXAN as a fill-in morning traffic anchor/Studio 512 co-host in 2019 when Dugan was on maternity leave.
After that she has worked as the host for commercial segment "Spotlight ATX" on competitor KVUE 24.
The Austin native got her traffic start at crosstown rival KEYE 42 in 2012.
Before that she worked as an anchor/reporter for KCEN 6 Waco/Temple/Killeen. She got her TV biz start as an anchor/reporter for News Channel 6 KAUZ Wichita Falls. Looks like she was on-air as Erica Harpold back then.
Outside of TV, Brennes has worked in marketing and runs a parent resource called "Real Mom, Real Tired."
The Texas State University grad interned with KEYE.
