Mauricio Casillas is joining NBC4 Washington WRC as a reporter from KVIA ABC-7 News El Paso where he is the morning anchor.
Reporter and ABC-7 Extra host, Saul Saenz takes the GMEP anchor job.

Here is what Casillas tweeted:
"El Paso, I have some news to share. This upcoming week will be my last at KVIA. It’s been the opportunity of a lifetime to tell stories in my hometown, at the station I grew up watching.
I’m thrilled to announce I will be joining @nbcwashington as a reporter later this month."
Casillas joined KVIA in May 2016 as a reporter and traffic anchor.
He then moved up to 4pm news anchor in 2017, followed by morning anchor and executive producer of "Good Morning El Paso."
The Arizona State University grad earned his bachelor's in journalism and master's in mass communications while working for the school's Cronkite News Arizona PBS.
