Ashley Carter joins the KCEN 6 Waco/Temple/Killeen weather team from WAAY 31 Huntsville, AL.

"Starting next week I will officially join @6NewsCTX team as the new morning weather anchor for Texas Today," Carter tweeted. "I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to be able to do what I love full time in my home state."

As noted, Carter was born and raised up I-35 from Central Texas in the DFW Metroplex city of Arlington.

Carter worked at WAAY since June 2019 as a weekend weather anchor and reporter.

She got her start in the broadcast biz as a digital media assistant for Arizona PBS 8 KAET.

The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University Cum Laude grad worked for the student run Cronkite News as a multimedia journalist (MMJ) and weather anchor. She interned with 91.5 KJZZ Phoenix and Your Phoenix CW KASW.

Carter is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
