Ivory Hecker Fox 26 Project Veritas on air announcement video and firing

Ivory Hecker is no longer a reporter for FOX 26 KRIV after announcing live on the station's Monday 5pm newscast that she was teaming up with Project Veritas to expose owner FOX Television Stations.

"FOX 26 adheres to the highest editorial standards of accuracy and impartiality," a FOX 26 spokesperson told mikemcguff.com in a statement.  "This incident involves nothing more than a disgruntled former employee seeking publicity by promoting a false narrative produced through selective editing and misrepresentation."

Here is a partial transcript of Hecker's report from what aired Monday during the FOX 26 Houston 5pm newscast.

"Before we get to that story, I want to let you the viewers know that Fox Corp has been muzzling me to keep certain information from you, the viewers, and from what I'm gathering. I am not the only reporter being subjected to this. I am going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox because it implies to you, the viewers, I found a nonprofit journalism group called Project Veritas is going to put that out tomorrow. So tune in to them."

Tuesday evening, Project Veritas released its video interview with Hecker you can see embedded below. The Daily Beast talked with Hecker too.

After the Project Veritas video was released, Hecker took to Instagram to say she has more recordings to release.

"This story has not fully been told," Hecker said on the embedded Instagram story below.  "It is very sad that it came to this. This is a company I loved and wanted to stay with. This is all very tragic. But I want to tell you guys, the outpouring has been so heartwarming. And I know that I know that it's because you guys are as fed up with this as as I am of news corporations saying that they just don't care about the questions and concerns of a large swath of the audience."

Before Hecker joined FOX 26 as a reporter in 2017, she also worked as a television news reporter for:

KARE Minneapolis
WLEX Lexington, KY
WACH Columbia, SC
KBJR Duluth, MN

Hecker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University.
