Gina Gaston's triplets featured on KPRC

Gina Gaston, a longtime evening anchor on abc13 KTRK, and her husband, former Houston Rockets championship player Mario Elie, are about to watch their triplets graduate from high school.

While that is special enough, it is actually one part of a larger story that KPRC covered.

As channel 2 reports, 45 students in the Memorial High School class of 2021 are either a triplet or twin!

In the case of the Lauren, Gaston, and Glenn Elie, they are going separate directions after crossing the stage.

“We’ve talked about it and it’s definitely going to be different for us because we’ve been together our whole lives," Lauren told KPRC.  "But we are going to Facetime with technology and it’s going to be fine."

Cool story.

But Houston media watchers like yourself might be fascinated that a Houston TV anchor's kids appeared on another channel!

And as you might imagine, KPRC reporter Courtney Zubowski did not mention the Elie's channel 13 connection.

However, these same Houston media watchers might realize there are more KTRK connections on KPRC.

In the same newscast you saw anchor Andy Cerota who previously reported for abc13 and chief meteorologist Frank Billingsley who started in Houston TV on channel 13.

Don't worry, I can go all day with this premise.

Speaking of Mario Ellie, go check out former abc13 anchor Dave Ward's great podcast with Ellie and other Rockets greats celebrating Rudy Tomjanovich for induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
