Courtney Zubowski is joining KPRC 2 Monday as a temporary reporter mikemcguff.com has confirmed.
After leaving KHOU 11's I-Team investigative unit in 2014, Zubowski has been freelancing for CBS News since 2017.
"Stories need to appeal to a broader audience so you have to find angles that speak to not only the community you are reporting from, but also the rest of the country," Zubowski told mikemcguff.com in 2017 concerning the transition from local TV to national. "There is definitely a lot more travel, so finding local contacts is a bit more challenging, but there are extra hands to help. The end goal is the same: find the story and get it right."
In between freelance assignments, Zubowski told me she has been busy working with several non-profit organizations and raising her children.
The University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Communication grad started in TV as an anchor/reporter at KFDM Beaumont.
Zubowski then reported at KTVK Phoenix until returning to hometown of Houston in 2008 to work for channel 11.
The last time the Bellaire High School grad spent time at KPRC 2, was when she was an intern with reporter Roseann Rogers.
