Erica and Brooks Garner back in their Houston KHOU days. |
Brooks Garner, former KHOU 11 meteorologist, announced he is leaving FOX 31 KDVR and KWGN Denver for FOX 35 WOFL Orlando (FOX owned station).

"I’m pleased to share that I’m joining FOX 35 in Orlando as their weekday evening meteorologist, starting June 1st," Garner posted to Facebook. "I’m no stranger to Florida’s weather, as I’ve worked in Tampa TV and was born near Jacksonville.
"I am delighted to return! I look forward to bringing nearly 20 years of severe weather and hurricane season experience to the FOX 35 Storm Team. Thank you to everyone who has expressed such kind messages and well-wishes!"
Garner joined FOX 31 KDVR - KWGN Denver back in 2019. Normally I don't remember what I was doing when I write blog posts, but for Garner's Denver gig, I actually do. That day in July, I was in Las Vegas waiting to interview Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge. That's an interesting story for another time though.
Back to Garner... his Houston television fans have been asking me to blog about TV Guide's "Sexiest Weathermen on Earth in 2015" current status, so here you go.
Garner joined KHOU 11 back in 2013.
He previously worked for:
WFLA News Channel 8 Tampa
WIS Columbia, S.C.
KMEG Sioux City, Iowa.
The award-winning met is a graduate of Mississippi State University’s broadcast meteorology program and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.
FOX 35 WOFL viewers are apparently wondering what is happening to the station's personnel.
