Courtney Zavala and Darby Douglas dealing with COVID-19

This week, KPRC 2 anchor Dominique Sachse revealed on her popular YouTube channel that she and her family, are all battling COVID-19, but she is not the only Houston media member to be dealing with the virus.

Also on channel 2, "Houston Life" host Courtney Zavala told co-host Derrick Shore and fill-in host/ morning news traffic anchor, Anavid Reyes, that her husband, Orlando, is having a hard time fighting COVID-19 (watch full video above):

"So we we're quarantining here at home. We're just praying for him to get over this hump.

And what's so weird is, you know, all of the symptoms that he's had, you guys, he's been hit so hard with just body aches and headaches. And he said even his toes hurt.

But actually on day eight is when he lost his taste and smell. And so it doesn't happen right in the beginning.

There's no rhyme or reason to this virus, but it's been a crazy, I don't know, ten days, nine days here at home."

Thankfully, Zavala and her sons have all tested negative.  The boys are now back in virtual home schooling for a third time.

Zavala thanks all of the Houston Life viewers that had been concerned about her whereabouts since she has been off the air taking care of Orlando.

Former KHOU 11 traffic anchor Darby Douglas battling COVID-19

Darby Douglas

KHOU 11 morning news viewers will remember former traffic anchor Darby Douglas, who revealed on his Facebook page in early January that he is also battling COVID.

"I have tested positive for Covid and am having a bit of a relapse currently," Douglas posted. "Body aches all over and tummy issues. At least the headaches are diminished."

He is continuing to offer updates on his page.

Douglas and channel 11 parted ways in 2018.  Now Douglas is a financial advisor.
