"KVUE anchors are shifting seats to keep the news we bring you informational, entertaining, and when we can – fun," the station said on its website.

In the meantime, meteorologist Hunter Williams will work both weekend mornings and nights until Mikell's weather team slot successor is hired.

Mays joined KVUE in 2004 as weekend sports anchor. Before returning to Austin (he studies journalism at the University of Texas at Austin), Mays was Sports Director at News 9 San Antonio and Sports Director at KTRE Lufkin.

Rush, a native Houstonian, joined KVUE in 2017 from KSDK NewsChannel 5 Saint Louis, Missouri after six years.

Mikell joined KVUE in 2018 as the weekend Daybreak meteorologist. Befor Texas, he served as the chief meteorologist at WLIO in Lima, Ohio.
