89.3 KSBJ's signal now covers all of Houston

After years of using lower powered frequencies to make up for the fact that it's signal could not reach all of Houston, 89.3 KSBJ has made improvements with an FCC approved transmitter move.

Thanks to this move, the station now covers our metro area adding an additional 1.7 million potential Houston listeners.

The new signal was activated Friday morning:

We all watched as Hurricane Harvey’s floodwaters rose. You may have even experienced the water coming into your own home. Through those helpless hours, KSBJ watched as the flood inundated our transmitter buildings, knocking us off the air. All we could do was trust, pray, and wait … and wonder why God would allow this to happen to our city.

Those floodwaters caused hearts and mountains to move, and your prayers helped get us back on the air and stronger than ever. Many don’t know this, but the day before Harvey, KSBJ had just finished an application for a new signal and had sent it off to Washington for approval. We fully expected the process to take months, maybe longer, because that’s what it usually takes.

However, the country was watching Houstonians come together, and it didn’t go unnoticed in the highest levels of government. Those floodwaters caused hearts and mountains to move, and in our case, it caused the approval process to go through the Federal Communications Commission in just eight days!

For the first time, KSBJ will now cover ALL of Houston and reach 1.7 million MORE Houstonians! Our improved signal goes LIVE on Friday, March 22 at 7:40am!

Now, we can express our thanks to you, and to God as we see how He’s on the move in many mighty ways. Join us the week of March 25, 5:30am – 10am, as we hit the streets of Houston to celebrate our improved signal. We’ll be broadcasting live all week so come grab a free donut and say hello to your new favorite morning show. Bring a friend and be sure to tell them Hope is here!
