UPDATE OCTOBER 2023
Aaron Fernandez-Wische heads to FOX 26 Houston
Wishce will be the Executive Producer of Special Projects for KPRC 2. He even has history at the Post-Newsweek station.
"I was a KPRC intern in 1995," Wishce tweeted. "Now I get to work there!"
According to LinkedIn, The Syracuse University graduate went on to work in the following roles for such stations as:
Executive Producer, Special Projects at KTVT-TV
Executive Producer, Special Projects at WTTG-TV
Executive Producer, Special Projects and Investigations at WFTS-TV
Special Projects Manager at WEWS-TV
Newscast Producer at KRIV-TV
Newscast Producer at KOTV
Wishce's account also says he currently runs a specialized unit of 12 producers, reporters, photographers and editors who work on long form investigative and consumer investigative stories for the ABC affiliate in Phoenix, AZ. Does this mean a big change for KPRC?
He's won awards like the Columbia duPont Silver Baton, IRE Certificate, National Headliner Awards and a National Emmy Nomination for investigative reporting. And if this were a dating website, you might want to know he has an interest in growing viewership online and on television through social media engagement and marketing.
I noticed that Wishce worked for KTVT in Dallas-Fort Worth. That just so happens to be the station that KPRC hired its assistant news director Chris Best in January.
