Jan. 29 (that's a Saturday) at South Texas College of Law here in Houston. Dina Temple-Raston of NPR will headline a half-day program on counterterrorism. It's free admission for all journalists, journalism students and communications professionals.

2011 First Amendment Awards
Open to all journalists in Texas and Oklahoma. These are given out by the Fort Worth chapter of SPJ. Cost is $35 per entry for pros, $15 per entry for students.
