To better inform and engage the public, TxDOT is now using several social media platforms to discuss area highways and projects, statewide programs, and other transportation-related initiatives in Texas. TxDOT joins the chorus of tweets on Twitter, a micro-blog that allows the department to provide important travel updates and news in 140 characters or less. TxDOT also has its own Facebook page and YouTube channel to involve individuals in a quick, accessible and personable manner.
