I was supposed to go down to Galveston to interview Governor Rick Perry. We braved the rain and traffic on I-45, got to the Hotel Galvez and a reporter for The Galveston Daily News said the governor was a no show. He was scheduled to give a talk to the Texas Municipal Police Association. Seems it was too windy for him to get there in either a plane or helicopter (not sure which one). No surprise. Galveston was nasty today. Here is a picture I took on the Seawall with my test phone.
On the way to Galveston, I kept thinking about Perry and his famous words with Ted Oberg. "Adios, Mofo" is on the cover of July's Texas Monthly, but the parting statement is plastered over Kinky Friedman instead of Perry in an attempt at some political joshing.
That satellite exchange would have been great blog fodder for Oberg. Ted Oberg with a blog. Hmmmmm.

Adios, Mofo!
