Review: Microsoft's Vista is nifty, but it's not irresistible

The main Houston tech man, Dwight Silverman, has been looking at Microsoft's new Windows Vista and seems to have a wait and see approach:
But the truth is that not everyone is going to need it, and in fact, upgrading to it may not be a good idea for some. Switching out operating systems on a personal computer is never inconsequential, and you should not necessarily be swayed by pretty colors, dazzling demos and soothing promises about how much better it will make your life.
Silverman goes on to talk about the new features and why Windows power users might jump all over it.

This might be the first look at the new OS I've seen that isn't dripping with sweet, sugary hype. Which could makes it the most refreshing of them all.

He says Vista might be out by the holidays. The keyword is might. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
