KPRC 2 weekend morning anchor Anoushah Rasta is packing up and heading west.
"Houston has been great, this has been a phenomenal experience, but I really miss my family and I want to be closer to them, you know it's been tough," an emotional Rasta told the KPRC 2 newsroom.
Rasta went on to joke she doesn't usually get this emotional.
At least she got a goodbye cake after her newsroom speech.
She made no mention of a new job, so we'll have to be on the lookout to see where she ends up next.
Rasta arrived at channel 2 back in 2014 from KTSM News Channel 9 El Paso where she had worked as a weekend anchor.
She started off her TV career in Los Angeles where she worked as a KABC-TV as a news assistant, apprentice and freelance traffic producer.
Now here is something to ponder as I know many like to do when there are Houston TV personnel changes.
We had NBC corespondent Jacob Rascon start anchoring weekend mornings in early October.
That meant that Rasta stayed on the anchor desk while co-anchor Sofia Ojeda left the weekend morning show to become a reporter.
With Rasta leaving, does that mean Ojeda returns to fill the spot next to the newly minted Rascon?
Stay tuned.
