KHOU 11 reporter Jacqueline Crea is moving on up to the Mile-High City of Denver. Her next gig is as a reporter/fill-in anchor at KMGH.

"It's tough leaving a place that has become home these past three years and where I have family, but am looking forward to the new opportunities at KMGH in Denver, with my fiancé and our pup," Crea told mikemcguff.com. "KHOU shaped me and challenged me in ways I never could've imagined and will forever be grateful for the experiences and stories I leave with."

Crea joined Houston's channel 11 in 2014. Her previous gig was a Texas one as the weekend anchor at KTSM El Paso. She started her career as a freelance writer for KNSD San Diego.

The Los Angeles native graduated from the University of California in San Diego.

Fiancé Tom Biberacher popped the question to Crea last Thanksgiving in San Diego.

Her last day at KHOU is February 9th. She starts at KMGH March 6th.

Last night I posted that KHOU 11 reporter Drew Karedes is leaving. Earlier this month, long-time channel 11 reporter Rucks Russell also left the TEGNA Houston station.

  2. All the good ones leaving. Who are we gonna get in return?

  3. Boy a mass exodus with KHOU. Saw a couple different people today so don't know if they are new reporters or just ones in for Super Bowl stuff or something.

But wish Jacqueline all the Best.

But really wondering with KHOU since the anchor changes what will come as this year goes even for the main anchoring. They are plugging Mia and Len more, and recently started with the Morning Crew with their little song and dance thing. But with Lisa Morning now and Greg only 5 & 6 how long will it be before he is Gone.

But as said who knows what will be as the Year goes. All the reporters I liked are now gone. Doug, Kevin, Drew, even Mario with Weekends. A lot of people either leaving the news or going into PR for Government, or someone.

But with all the people leaving lately I do wish them all luck.

  4. TEGNA has been gutting behind the scenes staff across the entire station group during the past three years, and the cuts have been especially severe at the former Belo stations. Now, with continued pressure to cut costs, on-air staffers are now being pushed out, or are proactively seeking other jobs ahead of getting the boot. We haven't seen the last of the departures yet.

    1. KHOU remains dead last and falling. More departures coming soon including big names. Reporters who were hired to work in a top ten major market are bailing out if they can instead of becoming a one-man band. Photographer ranks are gutted. Management is working hard to boost morale, but that's tough. TEGNA has to do something to battle out of the number four position, but as they vow to reinvent the station, others are cleaning their clock with old-school, big market, flood the zone reporting. Maybe KHOU's new game will click in the future when people watch newscasts on their watches. But their present is ugly and the word is out.

    2. Big question is whether the new News Director at KHOU-TV can find something to salvage the implosion ?

  5. Houston TV has turned into a revolving door. And the old hands seem to be replaced by complete rookies that get paid a fraction of what those leaving were making.

  6. Is this a newswoman we are supposed to know? I haven't ever seen her on local TV.

    1. She has been with KHOU for a while. Guess don't watch it. She has been on in the field for KHOU in evenings. But wish her luck when she goes to Denver. Watched her since she has been with KHOU
