Univision 45 KXLN claims February sweeps 2013 ratings win

KXLN ranks as the most-watched station in Houston with Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, regardless of language

KXLN Univision 45 finished the February 2013 sweep as the No.1 broadcast station among Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 in all the major dayparts: daytime, early fringe, early news, weekday primetime, late news, late fringe, as well as in total day viewing, regardless of language.

“Noticias 45 a las 5” (News 45 at 5) and “Noticias 45 Edición Nocturna” (News 45 Evening Edition) were the most watched local newscasts among Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 ahead of the ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates in Houston according to the February 2013 sweep results.

Weekday Primetime Ratings Highlights:

- During the February sweep more Houstonians watched KXLN Univision 45’s weekday primetime programming than all other broadcast stations, including the major English-language network affiliates: KTRK-ABC, KHOU-CBS, KPRC-NBC and KRIV-FOX.

- KXLN Univision 45’s weekday primetime averaged 122,000 viewers among Adults 18-49, 110% higher than its nearest competitor, KRIV-FOX.

LOCAL NEWS Ratings Highlights:

“Noticias 45 a las 5” weekdays at 5 p.m. delivered a first place finish, averaging 51,000 Adult 18-49 viewers, 104% higher than the No. 2 station, KTRK-ABC.



In the late news race among Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, “Noticias 45 Edición Nocturna” weekdays at 10 p.m. ranked No. 1, surpassing all English-language newscasts in the time period, averaging 93,000 viewers Adults 18-49.

  1. Well, Channel 2 is in the dumps again! I guess this means that some "changes" might be coming to Channel 2?? And I'll bet that Post-Newsweek (Owners of KPRC-TV) is PISSED!

  2. Smoke and mirrors may work for a couple of books but people aren't stupid..they catch on and will only take so much 'if it bleeds, it leads' sensationalism.
