Susan O’Donnell, 89.3 KSBJ morning show host and station program director, has announced she is leaving the Houston Contemporary Christian Music radio station.
The station issued the following message this morning:
Dear KSBJ Family,
We are saddened to announce that Susan O’Donnell has decided that her season at KSBJ has come to an end. While she will be missed dearly, we are grateful for her many years of dedication and service. And, we believe that God is stirring new things in Susan and has a great plan for her future.
Your prayers during this transition are greatly encouraged and appreciated. Thank you for your continued support.
Splitting her time between two demanding radio jobs, O’Donnell had left the morning show in July 2011 to concentrate on PD duties. Then later returned to the show and still held program director responsibilities. O'Donnell's morning replacement, Coppelia Rivera, moved to afternoons.
Bill Maier is the only KSBJ morning host listed on the station's site right now.
Yesterday, KSBJ announced it had a new website and a press release was issued this week about the station getting satellite transmission capability presumably for the national launch of NGEN.

So where is the bloated wind-bag going????
ReplyDeleteSusan is wonderful! :) She will be missed :(.
DeleteYou know it's comments like that, that make you want to get physical with people! And I'm not talking about laying hands and healing people. Why would you said that?! Why would you be so ulgy in a time of saddness. Please pray for me KSBJ, my job descriptions sometimes calls for me to baptist people in the concrete and if I was anywhere near you Anonymous 3/5/13 @ 9:01AM.... Losing Susan is a so sad. I always looked forward to hearing her fun, loving GOD lifting voice every morning. I hate that the goodbye was so sudden, and that it didn't come from her. I understand that it would have been too hard for her to say goodbye, again. I will truly miss you, Ms. Susan. I apologize for the idiots comment above but evil walks among us and turning the other cheeks is sometimes too hard....Nevertheless, I hate that I never got the opportunity to meet you but I pray that you are where GOD's Will has preordained you to be. GOD bless, I love you and Jesus loves you so much more.
DeleteI think we are all concerned for this beautiful, eloquent and caring person, and pray that her departure is not for medical issues. We all wish she had had the opportunity to "say goodbye" after having been with KSBJ for so many years and had secured the following of thousands of Houston listeners.
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you and will miss you. You touched many lives.
ReplyDeleteGod bless
I have so enjoyed your presence on my morning commute for so many years. I pray that whatever the circumstances or wherever the Lord is leading you will be filled with many wonderful blessings! God bless...and THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I have not heard the reson why Susan left KSBJ. Was it for health resons, personal or something else? No one has written or said anything and we are worried. We both prayed for her and she will be missed.

It was never said why. But knowing Susan, it would not have happened the way it did on her terms. She is looking for a job so keep her in your prayers. She is missed by so many and I know God will be using her in ways we probably can't imagine at this moment. I know she misses her listeners as much as we miss her.
DeleteMissing her greatly - was wondering what happened. She made my day every morning and Susan will be missed.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I miss you sooooo much! No one can replace you! I connect with you and hope you find what makes you happy. I wish someone had been kind enough to give a decent explanation.
