Jessica Gruenling joined KHOU 11 Houston as a reporter and multi-skilled journalist (MSJ) in November 2026.
In fact, viewers started contacting me about Gruenling after seeing her on Channel 11 during election coverage Tuesday evening.
Gruenling came to Houston after working at WRTV 6 Indianapolis, where she was a reporter and multimedia journalist beginning in June 2023.
Her departure from WRTV followed the station's sale to Circle City Broadcasting, the owner of WISH-TV. In a Facebook post, Gruenling explained that the ownership change resulted in the station's staff being let go.
“Our station was sold yesterday to Circle City Broadcasting (WISH-TV) and basically the entire staff was let go,” Gruenling wrote. “There are a lot of hard days in news, but having to say good bye to my friends and coworkers on such short notice made yesterday by far the toughest.”
Before moving to Indianapolis, Gruenling worked as a morning reporter for KRDO's Good Morning Colorado in Colorado Springs from June 2021 to August 2023.
Her previous television experience includes more than four years as a sports and news multimedia journalist at KBTX 3 in Bryan-College Station, Texas, from February 2017 to May 2021.
She also worked as a multimedia journalist in Anchorage, Alaska, with Coastal Television Broadcasting Company from 2014 to 2017.
An East Coast native who considers Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, home, Gruenling graduated from Temple University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcasting, telecommunications and mass media.
Her early broadcasting experience included internships with Comcast SportsNet, CBS 3 and 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia.
