TX TV meteorologist joins NWS in Alaska

Here is a TV weather story not every person forecasting in front of a green screen can pull off, because you would have to be a degreed meteorologist.

After beginning his broadcast meteorology career in West Texas, Britton Musall left FOX West Texas KIDY-KXVA in San Angelo and Abilene, Texas, to join the National Weather Service as a meteorologist in an opposite climate.

Musall is now based in Juneau, Alaska, where he has served as a meteorologist with the National Weather Service since January 2026.

He joined FOX West Texas in June 2023, shortly after graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology and a minor in mathematics. During his two-and-a-half years at the station, Musall forecast weather for more than 30 counties across West Texas, including the San Angelo and Abilene areas.

Before launching his television career, Musall interned at the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth during the summer of 2021, assisting meteorologists with research on flash-flood severity and lightning analysis.

A native of Plano, Musall is a Texas A&M graduate.
