Ryan Bailey promoted at KGNS 8 Laredo, Brenda Camacho leaves

KGNS 8 Laredo announced Ryan Bailey as the new anchor of its Late Edition in December 2025.

In addition to his expanded anchoring duties, Bailey will continue to serve as the station’s Sports Director, a role he has held for more than a decade.

Bailey’s career at KGNS began in 2010, when he moved to Laredo and joined the station as a nightside reporter. During that time, he also contributed as a co-anchor, weathercaster, and sports anchor for the nightly 9 p.m. CW newscast. In 2011, Bailey transitioned to part-time news reporting and weekend sports anchoring before officially becoming the full-time Sports Director in November 2011.

A graduate of Washington State University, Bailey earned a double major in Broadcast News and Production in 2005. Following graduation, he spent several years working throughout the Pacific Northwest in radio, including sports play-by-play broadcasting and roles with a minor league baseball organization.

Bailey takes over the Late Edition anchor chair following the departure of Brenda Camacho, who left KGNS in October 2025.

Camacho joined the station as an associate producer and rose through the ranks to become an anchor, reporter, and executive producer, most recently serving as senior producer and anchor of KGNS News Early Edition and anchoring the Late Edition Monday through Friday.

Camacho is a 2012 graduate of Alexander High School. She attended Laredo Community College before transferring to Texas State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 2016.
