Ari Alexander announced he is joining 7News WHDH Boston as a sports anchor and reporter.
Here is what Alexander posted on social:
"ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE MYSELF…
I’m joining 7News - WHDH Boston as a Sports Anchor & Reporter!
Excited to cover the iconic championship franchises in a historic city.
Boston, let’s go!"
Alexander announced that he had left his KPRC 2 Houston weekend sports anchor position on August 30, 2025.
Replacing Alexander is Nick Mantas, who joined KPRC 2 as a sports anchor and reporter from Graham Media Group’s sister station, KSAT 12 San Antonio. Mantas signed off from KSAT on August 29, 2025, and started at KPRC on September 2nd.
From hitting the gym with Astros star Jeremy Peña and catching passes from D.J. Lagway to rocking grillz with Houston icon Paul Wall after rapping “Still Tippin’” live on air, since joining KPRC in July 2019, Alexander delivered memorable sports coverage.
Before coming to Houston, Alexander began his TV career at WMC in Memphis, where he spent three and a half years as a weekend sports anchor at KVOA in Tucson, Arizona.
A graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism (Class of 2013), Alexander has earned seven Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award. Born in Ukraine, he immigrated to the United States in 1996. He is fluent in Russian and was married in 2022.
