It's no secret that I am a big fan of Owen Conflenti's social media work.
To me, the longtime KPRC 2 morning anchor is Houston's anchor version of David Letterman back in his prime NBC "Late Night" days.
Conflenti could either be going full Wes Anderson (a native Houstonian BTW), making us LOL via TikTok, or years ago introducing planking to KPRC viewers.
Now he has ventured into generative AI with Sora, and check out below who he is doing makeup with! Hey, it looks pretty real!
One of my favorite Conflenti social media moments is when he would show up to Channel 2 before the sun had even thought about creeping over the horizon and would do the Eddie Murphy bit from Coming to America. You know the one when Murphy's character Akeem first arrived in Queens and yelled from his top apartment, "Good morning, my neighbors!"
IYKYK what his neighbors yell back.
Well, I seriously considered parking in the nearby lots and giving him the proper return line from the movie. Here's the problem, I am no morning person. That would have meant that I would just stay up till whatever time his shift starts! I apologize to you all, I am not that committed! But can you imagine his reaction if I had?
