Monty Cook becomes WBAP DFW news anchor

Monty Cook moved from traffic to news anchor for 820 WBAP’s Morning News in Dallas - Fort Worth starting in January 2025.

Cook has been with WBAP since 1997 as a traffic reporter/fill-in host. He is also the public announcer for Texas Christian University (TCU)football and men's basketball. Riff Ram Bah Zoo.

Before North Texas, Cook was a broadcaster in Killeen and Gatesville.

The North Garland High School and University of North Texas grad served in the United States Army during the Persian Gulf for Operation Desert Storm in the early 1990s.
