Diamond Dickson joined the KRIS 6 Corpus Christi weather team as a meteorologist in May 2024.
"This role is all about grind and grit for me, and of course representation," Dickson posted on Facebook. "Not many women, nor women of color, make up the world of meteorologists we see today. I thank God for qualifying me for this position."
Dickson joins KRIS from 15 ABC KRHD, where she was a neighborhood reporter.
The native Houstonian started her TV career with NewsChannel 10 KFDA Amarillo multimedia journalist.
A 2019 Sam Houston State University grad, Dickson had the opportunity to work with Dan Rather and his grandson. She also received a scholarship in Rather's honor. Months after graduation, she pursued a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Human Resource Development from Louisiana State University, graduating in 2021.
Dickson is enrolled at Mississippi State University, receiving her second bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Operational Meteorology.
