Tommy House joins KXAN Austin

Tommy House joined KXAN Austin as a weekend evening meteorologist in July 2024.

He took the spot vacated by now-chief meteorologist Nick Bannin when David Yeomans left Austin TV. Former TV meteorologist Scott Prinsen, now Program Manager, City of Austin Flood Early Warning System, has been filling in weekend nights since Bannin moved to weeknights.

House comes from Fox28 Savannah WTGS where he was chief meteorologist.

He previously freelanced for NewsChannel 13 WNYT Albany, New York and CBS13 WGME Portland, Maine.

The Plymouth State University grad interned with WCVB 5 Boston.

House joins Freddy Vela, another recent addition to the KXAN weather department.
