Katie Orth returns to Texas at FOX 7 Austin KTBC as morning anchor starting July 8, 2024, alongside co-anchor Dave Froehlich.
I guess Orth will take the spot of Leslie Rangel, who left in June.
Orth comes from KWGN 2 Denver, where she has been a “Daybreak” anchor since May 2021. On her final day, she announced that she was returning to Texas for the new anchor job and to get married.
The Austin native has been the evening anchor for ABC Big 2 News KMID/KPEJ in Midland-Odessa since May 2017. Before that, she was a morning anchor /reporter for KIDY Fox News First San Angelo.
While pursuing her degree in Communications and Journalism at Texas A&M University, Orth launched her broadcast news career as a sports multimedia journalist for KAGS College Station. She also gained experience as an anchor and promotions assistant at KAMU-TV in College Station.
Originally from Austin, Orth grew up in Sugar Land, TX, and graduated from Fort Bend Christian Academy.
A brand new addition is coming to Good Day Austin on Monday so make sure you watch on air and online to help us welcome @katieorth to the team! pic.twitter.com/oIOVsMphUO
