Houston sports media journalist Fred Faour, 59, died last week.
David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports that Faour's brother said his health had been failing, but the sports media figure "didn’t want people to know."
Faour was recently known as a longtime sports radio host on ESPN 97.5 Houston KFNC and, before that, as a Chronicle sports editor.
There is a gofundme to pay for his funeral expenses.

Damn. Damn. Damn. … I’m in tears. He meant so much to me, taught me so much, literally guided my career. So many amazing times together, so many heartfelt moments … I am who I am because of who he was. Seriously. A special brotherly love that will never die. … I’m crushed. https://t.co/niiObuRAda
