Carney Porter, the KFDX 3 Wichita Falls morning anchor, moves to the evenings in March 2024 to replace the outgoing Lauren Linville.
“I don’t think I could ever fully express how grateful I am to know you,” Porter said in a statement. “For those of you who don’t know, Lauren is one of my best friends. Throughout the last few years, you may have seen us together shopping at TJ Maxx, at the movie theater, or enjoying an espresso martini or two. It’s hard to fathom that you won’t live just ten minutes away anymore, and if I’m honest, it kind of breaks my heart to think that this will be a reality in just a few short days.”
Porter joins longtime evening anchor Darrell Franklin on the 5pm, 6pm and 10pm newscasts.
“I’m beyond excited to share the desk with Darrell Franklin and work alongside Michael Bohling and Tobin McDuff,” Porter added. “Most of all, I’m excited to introduce myself to all our evening viewers who may not be awake as early as I am for the morning show.”
Porter joined KFDX in October 2021 as a multimedia journalist (MMJ).
The Oklahoma State University grad started anchoring the morning news in January 2022.
