Max Massey announced he is leaving his KSAT 12 "Good Morning San Antonio" weekend anchor position and is exiting TV news to become an attorney.
Here is a portion of what Massey posted on Facebook:
"After nearly 7 years, my last newscast at KSAT 12 will be on March 10th.
First and foremost, I want to thank KSAT for the tremendous opportunities I've had here over the years. Reporting on life-altering stories, the immense growth across our community, and everything in between has been an absolute honor. I especially want to thank San Antonio and the entire surrounding community for welcoming me with open arms when I first arrived.
Over the past few years, I have been attending law school, and now, as my news door closes, my law door opens. I plan to graduate this May and take the bar exam in July, beginning the next chapter of my personal and professional journey.
Though this drastic change in my life will not be easy, and I'll miss being a part of the KSAT family, I'm unbelievably grateful for my time here. Thank you all - viewers, coworkers, family and friends - for everything. Here's to the wonderful memories and new adventures ahead!"
Massey joined KSAT in August 2017 as a reporter. In 2019, he was promoted to weekend morning anchor.
Before San Antonio, the Penn State University grad worked as a:
- News reporter for KOLN/KGIN-TV 10/11 News Lincoln, Nebraska
- Video journalist for KNOP-TV NBC Nebraska News 2 North Platte, Nebraska
- Anchor/reporter for Penn State Network Television
