Mark “Hawkeye” Louis of the New Country 96.3 KSCS Dallas–Fort Worth "Hawkeye in the Mornings" show is auctioning his massive baseball card collection that he started buying for in 1971.
"I hadn't really looked at them in a while and I thought I'd like to see them go in the hands of somebody who really does appreciate them," Hawkeye told CBS News Texas anchor Karen Borta. "And that's why I went with Heritage Auctions. And I didn't really, you know, I didn't really need to profit off of it. And I thought, what's another legacy I can do with these cards?"
And the 17,000 card collection, estimated to get $15,000 from the auction, will go to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.
