Justin Stapleton is known for his weather forecasts, but the KPRC 2 Houston meteorologist was called to do his first-ever anchoring on KPRC2+ (maybe the 10am newscast, too, not sure) earlier today.
His other half, a former KHOU 11 digital anchor herself, Brandi Smith, posted how proud she was after watching his inaugural anchoring.
Here is what Smith wrote on Facebook:
"Raise your hand if you always knew [Justin Stapleton a] was a rock star!
Today, he anchored a newscast for the first time. Not just 30 minutes; he anchored two hours full of [KPRC 2] news and live interviews and absolutely nailed it.
This guy is a degreed meteorologist, who has made an effort to learn how to shoot, write and edit his own stories. Now he proved he can anchor as well.
If you can't tell, I'm just awfully proud of him and all the work he's put in to learn, grow and be the best he can be."
If you've been reading my blog lately, we've recently seen a sports director in San Antonio anchoring and an Austin morning anchor doing the weather!
