KPRC 2 investigative reporter Amy Davis has been working a long time on a series about high Houston water bills and is still looking for answers.
So Davis went to a public event at the city and asked Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner questions about the water bills.
As you can see in the above KPRC 2 raw video, the mayor did not appreciate Davis confronting him at this event and had some words for her on camera calling the reporter "very rude" and not professional. Turner said he will call KPRC 2 General Manager Phil Lane about the incident.
Turner asked his Director of Communications, Mary Benton, to escort Davis away.
In the video, you can hear Davis saying she sent an email with questions, and then you hear Benton saying she did not receive those questions.
Fellow journalists came out in support of Davis on Twitter.
One of the finest and kindest professionals I know.. holding the top man accountable - @SylvesterTurner , Mayor of @HoustonTX - for one of the biggest quagmires on his watch.. and @KPRC2Amy questions are the very same being asked by hardworking Houstonians day and night.. https://t.co/5RhKPvQWTh

She is doing the job. She has always done the hardest part of the job.
@SylvesterTurner, just answer the question - that’s your job. https://t.co/pccjx85ujF
