Monica Nino, the KENS 5 San Antonio assistant news director since July 2022, has left the station and apparently the television news business.
"Today marked my final day with KENS," Nino tweeted. "After 9 years with KENS & 19 years in television, I’m switching gears and going all in on my love of wine and my restaurants. The Board Couple is opening a second location in Comfort next month!
Nino joined KENS 5 in 2014, serving as senior executive producer and morning news EP before becoming assistant ND.
Ahead of making her hometown return, Nino previously worked for CNN/HLN as a producer. She also worked as an EP for News 4 San Antonio WOAI and a producer for CBS Austin KEYE.
The Emmy award winning journalist is a graduate of Texas State University.
