Ozzy Mora leaves Texas and her ABC Big 2 KMID/Fox 24 News KPEJ Midland-Odessa anchor job for Nexstar Media Group sister-station KLAS 8 Las Vegas where she will be an anchor/reporter. Her last day was June 16, 2023.
Here is a portion of what Mora posted on Facebook:
"This is truly a blessing. I’ll be closer to my loved ones and be in another community I will also call HOME.
I just want to thank my family for supporting me through this path, it’s been a tough, but rewarding one.
Also, a few of my mentors and lastly my agent Nancy Shafran for dealing with my late night calls, texts and long discussions because I couldn’t sleep."
Mora joined KMID/KPEJ in November 2021 from KAVU Victoria where she was an evening anchor/reporter. In the last month she moved to mornings fill the spot left vacated by Samantha Smerechniak.
The Los Angeles native has also done hosting work on the CW's "Mysteries Decoded" and the Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures."
The University of La Verne grad got her local television news start with 12NEWS KPNX Phoenix, Arizona as a social media producer/host/MMJ.
