Shelby Mac is joining WKRN News 2 Nashville, Tennessee as weekend morning meteorologist from Nexstar Media Group sister-station KAMC News Lubbock where she is the "Good Morning Lubbock" and midday meteorologist.
"Nashville, I’m coming home," Mac tweeted. "I’m so thrilled to announce I’ll be joining our awesome sister station, WKRN, at the beginning of February. My time in West Texas has been one of my biggest blessings."
Mac, who grew up in the Middle Tennessee area, is a graduate of Mississippi State University.
While in school, Mac was the weekend meteorologist for WTOK 11 Meridian, Mississippi.
Mac worked at KAMC with the daughter of a parent who has quite the Houston TV news pedigree. She forecasted with anchor Laura Laughead who is the daughter of former abc13 KTRK, KPRC 2 and KHOU 11 reporter Christi Myers. Ahead of her move to CBS 42 WIAT Birmingham, Alabama, Laughead and Meyers anchored together on KAMC.
Today marked Meteorologist Shelby Mac's last day with us here at KAMC. Shelby's moving back to her home state of Tennessee. We love you and wish you the best of luck on you're next chapter. ❤🥹 pic.twitter.com/Vewt3vvSZv
