It's not everyday you turn on KAMC News Lubbock and see legendary Houston medical reporter Christi Myers on the anchor desk!
No, the former abc13 KTRK, KPRC 2 and KHOU 11 reporter is not the Nexstar Media Group's newest anchor.
Myers was actually on air to celebrate morning anchor Laura Laughead's last day with KAMC. Laughead is Myers's daughter!
Laughead joined KAMC in 2020.
"I’m very proud of [Laura] because she did this all on her own," Myers told mikemcguff.com back in 2020. "She’s seen the hard hours and the deadlines. That didn’t scare her off. She learned to shoot and edit well at UT’s Journalism school."
As for where Laughead is headed next, we'll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned.
Laughead is heading to CBS 42 WIAT Birmingham, Alabama as an anchor/reporter.
