Freddy Oldenburg named Telemundo Houston KTMD VP of news

This after Tony Canales left the Telemundo Houston and Telemundo Nuevo México KASA president/GM positions earlier this month to helm NBC 5 DFW KXAS and Telemundo 39 KXTX in Dallas - Fort Worth.

Flores was named the KLTM GM in 2014 when NBCU purchased the station. As reported on this blog, the station quickly saw ratings success.

He previously was the news director for Telemundo 39 KXTX DFW for seven years. Before that, he was an assistant news director for KWHY 22 Los Angeles from 2005 to 2007.

No stranger to Houston, Flores was the Telemundo Houston news director in 2001. He got his start with Univision 45 Houston KXLN in 1990 as a news photographer/editor. He held several positions at the station including news producer.

Flores is a University of Houston graduate and holds an MBA from TCU.

I'm also hearing more is happening in the Texas Telemundo television station world.

Vice President of Sales for Telemundo Houston Patricia Buchanan will now take over as President/GM for Telemundo 60 KVDA San Antonio and Telemundo Nuevo México.

Buchanan has been with KTMD since 2019 and helped launch sales at KASA.
