Jala Washington has been promoted to KXAN weekend morning anchor from Texas Capitol Correspondent.
"Being an anchor has always been a dream of mine, so this feels surreal," Washington tweeted. "The best is yet to come."
She takes over for Maggie Glynn who announced she was leaving KXAN on September 9, 2022.
Washington started with KXAN in December 2020 as the Hays County reporter.
Prior to Central Texas, Washington worked as a multi-media journalist (MMJ) with KFOX 14 and CBS 4 KDBC El Paso.
The bilingual journalist (English and Spanish) started her TV career as an MMJ with ABC 7 Amarillo KVII.
The Ball State University grad worked as an anchor/reporter for the school owned NewsLink Indiana. She interned with WISH Indianapolis, Indiana.
