Tylisa Hampton is leaving her NBC 23 KVEO Rio Grande Valley weekend anchor position for KARK 4 and FOX 16 News KLRT Little Rock, Arkansas.
Here are two tweets in a combined fashion where Hampton made her announcements:
"Today is my last day with KVEO and CBS 4. I’m so grateful for the all the support, I’ve truly learned some much from the RGV community that has helped me become a better journalist.
I have nothing but the highest respect for my newsroom that always pushes for growth.
So excited and happy to be apart of the Team 20 newsroom!!
I’m looking forward to sharing stories from my home state with such a talented group. Thank you for letting me continue my passion!"
The Harlingen weekend anchor/reporter started at KVEO in July 2020 - first as an MMJ and then anchor.
The University of Central Arkansas grad interned with KARK 4/Fox 16 KLRT, so it is a return for Hampton. As a student, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) member also worked as an MMJ/anchor/producer for the university's News 6.
