The Texas Radio Hall of Fame (TRHOF) will award seven (7) individual grants of $1,000 each to Texas students pursuing a course of study related to broadcasting.
The winners will be honored at a luncheon on May 19, 2022 in the Performance Centre of Houston’s Ensemble Theatre.
Eligible students must be currently enrolled in a Texas college, university, art/trade institute, or community college, and participating in classes that would support a career in broadcasting.
Applications must be made through the TRHOF website at www.TRHOF.net before Midnight Central Time on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
The seven named grants include The Dan D. Acree Texas Radio Hall of Fame Scholarship, The Audacy-Texas Scholarship, The Cox Media Group Scholarship, The Harold Gunn Texas Radio Hall of Fame scholarship, IHeartMedia’s The Beat/Black Information Network Scholarship, The KTSU 90.9 The Choice Scholarship and Mostyn Law’s Power of Radio Scholarship.
“It’s significant to note that three of our scholarships are underwritten by major broadcast groups and a fourth by an individual radio station, “observes TRHOF Executive Director Doug Harris.” An additional two are provided by TRHOF board members, and another by a law firm who makes extensive use of radio and its personalities in its advertising. For radio to shine, we need to find and support its future stars.”
